Job Description

At Itera Mobility Engineering , we are seeking a CAD Engineer specialized in interior hard trim to join our automotive engineering team onsite in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Main functions to develop:

• Develop and execute interior system requirements for one or more of the interior trim commodities. (Hard trim / Soft trim).
• Develop 3D designs and 2D drawings (e.g. CATIA V5/V6 only) and ability to interpret CAE data.
• Knowledge of injection molding DVPs & Testing specification.
• Collaborate with styling teams to conduct feasibility studies, evaluate A-class surfaces, and define craftsmanship targets.
• Review technical inputs, clarify design queries, and provide initial effort estimations.
• Ensure all designs align with manufacturing feasibility and cost-effective production methods.
• Develop and define system requirements for hard trim or soft trim subsystems.
• Apply best practices in plastic and fabric manufacturing processes.
• Work with a cross-functional team, collaborating with the rest of the areas from manufacturing and quality teams.
• Should have knowledge and understanding of Tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Must have handled projects for leading Automotive OEMs.
• Should be able to prepare deliver presentations of the concepts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree required.
• 5-10 years working knowledge of interior hard trim (Plastic), and production assembly techniques.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 is a must
• Knowledge of joining elements, manufacturing, tolerance & assembly processes.
• Good communication and presentation skills. High team spirit, learning attitude & Driven to win attitude.
