About Base

Base is building the foundation of American power. The grid is the largest, most complex machine in the world. Yet it’s aging, struggling to keep up with today’s demand, and is unprepared for our electrified future.

Base is modernizing the grid as the first engineering-led, technology-driven power company. We’re deploying a nationwide network of distributed batteries that strengthens critical infrastructure and saves Americans money.

Our team of engineers, operators, creatives, technicians, and electricians design and deploy systems at speed. If you want to tackle the problem that will define this century and shape the future of American energy, now is the time. Join us.

About the Role

Base Power Company is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Deployment Site Designer to assess customer site compatibility for battery installations. This role involves detailed analysis of customer-provided photos, collaboration on installation configurations, and ensuring compliance with electrical code requirements. Deployment Site Designers will also create specialized drawings for non-standard installations and may conduct occasional field site surveys. Please note that this role is an hourly position.

What You'll Do

  • Review customer-submitted site photos and documentation to determine installation feasibility and compatibility.

  • Collaborate with customers to clarify site details and finalize installation configurations.

  • Interpret and apply relevant electrical codes to ensure safe and compliant installations.

  • Create detailed, specialty drawings for off-nominal or complex installation scenarios.

  • Document and communicate installation requirements and potential issues to internal teams.

  • Maintain accurate records of site survey reviews and customer interactions.

  • Occasionally conduct in-person site surveys to resolve complex issues or verify site conditions.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams based on site survey findings.

  • Identify and suggest improvements to the site survey review process for increased efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in site survey review, electrical installation, or related technical field.

  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and installation best practices.

  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and creating detailed diagrams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret visual data from photographs and site documentation.

  • Experience with solar, battery, or EV charger installations.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Proficient with computer software and documentation tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CAD software for creating technical drawings.

  • Certification in electrical or solar installation.

  • Experience conducting in-person site surveys.

  • Knowledge of specific local electrical codes and permitting processes.

  • Familiarity with project management principles.

Our Values

We’re building a winning culture and we’re looking for people who are up for the challenge. Here’s what we expect from day one:

  • In-Person Only: We work full-time in the office. No hybrid. No remote.

  • Challenge the Status Quo: Question assumptions. Fix broken systems. Principles > rules.

  • Move Fast: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble. Challenge ideas–including your own.

  • Own the Outcome: Take full responsibility. Deliver results. No excuses.

  • Act Like an Owner: Be resourceful, mindful of impact, and committed to the business.

  • Be Decisive: Drive clarity. Make bold calls with imperfect info.

  • Bring the Intensity: This is not a 9-to-5. We're building something hard which requires real commitment.
