Job Title: Drafter/Designer – Structural Construction (Commercial & Residential)

Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL

Job Type: Full-time with benefits

Pay: $30-$40/hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Drafter/Designer with a strong background in creating structural construction drawings for commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and proficient in both AutoCAD and Revit .

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and detailed structural construction drawings for commercial and residential buildings.
  • Interpret architectural and engineering plans, sketches, and specifications to develop drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and compliance with building codes and standards.
  • Revise drawings based on feedback and markups.
  • Maintain drawing organization, file management, and version control.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, Architectural, Civil) when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in structural drafting/design for commercial and residential construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems, building codes, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with structural engineers or in a structural engineering firm.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and permit processes.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
