Position: Senior Electrical Estimator

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will lead the electrical estimating department and be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of electrical construction projects. Your duties will include reviewing project plans and specifications, calculate material and labor costs, and work closely with project managers and subcontractors to develop competitive bids on schedule.

Responsibilities:

· Lead the electrical estimating process by reviewing project documents, preparing precise quantity take-offs, and developing accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

· Coordinate RFQs with suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate responses, and ensure bids meet project goals and deadlines.

· Identify project risks and opportunities, communicate findings to management, and develop contingency plans.

· Attend site meetings and interface regularly with clients, field teams, vendors, and stakeholders to clarify scope and resolve issues.

· Mentor junior estimators, improve estimating procedures, and contribute to pre-construction planning and technical proposals.

· Support business development efforts by maintaining client relationships and pursuing new opportunities.

· Prepare and submit written proposals, maintain project documentation, and participate in project deliverables and contract reviews.

Qualifications:

· Significant experience as an electrical estimator, ideally at a senior level.

· Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and industry codes.

· Skilled in reading blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.

· Proficient with estimating software (such as Accubid and B2W Estimate) and MS Office applications.

· Effective communicator with leadership, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

· Organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered (minimum 5 years required).

· Comfortable with technology, adaptable to change, and able to maintain professional relationships.

· Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.

· Alaska Electrical Administrators license and willingness to re-assign Preferred.

· Willingness to travel as needed for pre-bid walks and site visits.
